Additional Education Opportunities

The Journey prepares individuals and congregants to engage in volunteer opportunities both in their communities and through HopeSprings’ existing partnerships with local HIV/AIDS Service Organizations. A list of training dates and registration can be found here.

The Education team offers a number of free programs aimed at raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic within the Church. Our goal is to reduce stigma and increase a compassionate response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Programs include:

• A Speaker’s Bureau team, which offers seminars on HIV 101, the Church’s Biblical Mandate to respond to HIV/AIDS, and HIV/AIDS Prevention

• Quarterly Learning Communities focusing on topics associated with HIV/AIDS

• A four session volunteer training course called “The Journey” for anyone wishing to work directly with our HIV+ neighbors

HIV Outreach in the Latino Community
HopeSprings is in the process of building a team to do education and outreach in the Latino church community in Baltimore. Volunteers will be working a long side of Bill and Aida Medina and HopeSprings staff to awaken, equip, and engage.
