Live Well Tables

Did you know that less than 40% of our HIV+ brothers and sisters are actually retained in care and only 14% virally suppressed and adherent to medications? Why? What is happening? How can this be?

Many of our brothers and sisters who are HIV+ and living in poverty, simply put, lack relationships. So, we are on a mission to make relationship more intentional and partner with our brothers and sisters to move from transaction to transformation through a model developed in partnership with The Open Table.

Open Table OT HIV Model

Because poverty is an indicator of adherence to an HIV medication regimen, HopeSprings has been in partnership with Open Table since 2013, to utilize their nationally recognized poverty transformation model to help those who are HIV+ and in poverty to develop productive lives by living into their human potential. Using this model, 6-10 volunteers from faith communities invest their vocational/life experiences and networks in creating and implementing life plans for individuals and families. Alleviating poverty to live better with HIV is a groundbreaking approach to addressing the holistic needs of our brothers and sisters who are HIV+.

So what can you do?

Have you ever waited and waited at a restaurant, only to see people that put their names in after you be seated first?

Have you ever thought:
Is it me? Is there something wrong that these people won’t call my name?

Picture this scenario as a first timer to the church world. Brothers and Sisters receiving HIV care through our partner clinics take the step of faith to come.  They want to engage with the church. Yet, they wait and wait and wait for someone to reach out and say hello.

Right now, we have Brothers and Sisters waiting for a Table. A Table is a team of 8-10 individuals to surround them on a weekly basis and work with them to build a life plan and engage in relationship.  Brothers and Sisters are here, waiting for the church to engage.  They wonder how long it will take to find people from a church willing and wanting to connect with them.

This is where you come in.  We need you to respond now to a person who is living in poverty and wants to be in relationship with you. Will you prayerfully consider serving as a Table member? Help us so that we can notify them that their wait is over and their Table is ready!

I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
